There seems to be no shortage of magnificent hiking trails in Mississippi. However, those aren’t the only kinds of trails you’ll find. In fact, the Magnolia State just so happens to be home to a one-of-a-kind biking trail that’ll lead you on an adventure like no other. Take a look:
This is the Tanglefoot Trail. Known as a "rail trail," it runs along an abandoned railroad line.
Follow the winding trail through three counties – Chickasaw, Pontotoc, and Union. Along the way, you’ll be treated to the stunning sites of small town Mississippi.
To make your journey a bit more enjoyable, there are four "whistle stops" lining the trail. Each facility includes restrooms, water fountains, and picnic tables.
But mesmerizing scenery isn’t all you’ll find on the Tanglefoot Trail. The small communities of New Albany, Ecru, Pontotoc, Algoma, New Houlka, and Houston are all situated along the path.
Each of the towns offer charming places to rest, eat, and shop. In New Albany, for example, there’s a quaint park, terrific antique shopping, and the must-visit burger joint, Latham’s.
