Once its days as a school were over, it served a variety of other purposes before being transformed into the great restaurant it is today. The Salem Opry House has been serving up southern inspired cuisine for 10 years now – though, the building that houses the restaurant has been around much longer.

Constructed in the 1920s, the building was initially used as the area’s school – the Salem Consolidate High School.

In 1957, the classrooms burned down. After the fire, the building was renovated several times and went on to serve as a barn and then a disco.
Step inside today, and you’ll find a roomy, 2-story dining area…and lots of happy (and full) diners.
