Atmosphere can take a dining experience from ordinary to extraordinary, and if you’re looking for that little extra, you should pay a visit to Scranton’s. The eatery is located in a historic building that once housed a firehouse as well as city hall. Even better, diners are invited to explore the premises. Take a look:
Located in downtown Pascagoula, Scranton’s opened in 1982. The building that houses it has been around since the 1920s, though.
Still bearing the words, "Pascagoula Central Fire Co," it’s pretty obvious that the building once served as the town’s firehouse. However, most don’t realize it also used to house city hall.
According to the eatery’s website, guests can "peek inside the old town vault, dine in the spot where the mayor once conducted business, touch the bars of the town's original jail cell, and glimpse the bright red door that once opened to the old firehouse."
Scranton’s is located at 623 Delmas Ave., Pascagoula, MS 39567. For more information, call (228) 762-1900. You can also visit the eatery’s website or Facebook page.
