Even better, the B&B embraces its spooky history and offers guided tours, so you can learn all about the home’s history, including its phantom residents. Take a look:

Since its construction, it’s served several different purposes, including a private residence, Civil War hospital, and most recently, a B&B.
Although impressive, the home’s age isn’t its only notable feature. There’s also the fact that it’s no stranger to paranormal activity.

Over the years, the home’s been investigated by various paranormal investigators and nine out of 10 say that Duff Green Mansion is haunted.
According to investigation groups, the home is haunted by "no less than 10" spirits. The spirit of Mary Green, one of the home’s original owners, is one of the mansion’s most well known ghosts.

Many speculate that Mary is returning to check on the home she once loved so dearly. Over the years, she’s been seen throughout Duff Green Mansion, walking along a hallway or through a room before slowly fading away.
But Mary isn’t the only Green still residing at the mansion. Annie, the Green’s 5-year-old daughter, has also been spotted roaming the halls.

Annie died of yellow fever. Investigators believe she’s looking for her parents, but don’t know for sure since she won’t interact with them.

Aside from Mary and Annie, the ghost of a one-legged Confederate soldier is spotted quite frequently. The apparition is even mentioned on the inn’s website.

According to the site, "You can tour [the Green’s] home, from the ballroom danced in by Jefferson Davis and Ulysses S. Grant to sitting by a fireplace in the former kitchen turned operating room where you might see the Confederate soldier ghost."
Though a ghost sighting can’t be guaranteed, it’s more likely if you book a stay in the Dixie Room – since it seems to be a favorite of the ghostly soldier.

While Duff Green Mansion was being used as a hospital, surgeries were performed on the ground floor, more specifically the Dixie Room. So it makes sense that the solider, who’s often seen holding a severed leg, is usually seen in that particular area of the mansion.

The inn’s site even issues a warning about the Dixie Room, stating, "…but a rollaway bed is not recommended as the fireplace area is often shared with the Confederate Soldier missing his leg but rocking through the night."

Other unexplained happenings include full body apparitions, shadow figures, phantom footsteps, disembodied voices, strange noises, like furniture being dragged across a room, EVP recordings, and more. Watch the video below for a closer look at Duff Green Mansion.
