Mississippi Has The Most Home Break-Ins Of Any State In The Country. Here's Why

When moving to a new place one thing we all have on the top of our list is a concern for the safety of our family and our belongings. Mississippi is a fantastic place to live but there’s one hitch you should be aware of if you’re considering a move to The Magnolia State.

The company Safewise just released a list of the top 100 safest places to live in America. At the same time, A Secure Life released a list of the U.S. states that have the most home break-ins. Mississippi didn't fare well on either list.

Mississippi ranks number one as the state with the most home break-ins. Furthermore, it didn't show up anywhere on the other list; the list with the 100 safest cities and towns to live in.

That's because, according to the report from A Secure Life, if you live in the State of Mississippi, you have a higher chance of getting your home broken into than any other place in the country.

According to the report compiled using statistics from 2016, Mississippi residents have a 1 in 120 chance of being the victim of a home break-in.

The figures, compiled and reported by A Secure Life, say that is exactly 828.8 out of every 100,000 Mississippi residents who will become a victim of a home break-in.

That’s not good news for The Magnolia State. But one thing about coming in last is that there’s always room for improvement!
