There are tons of great hiking trails in Mississippi, but the Lost Bluff Trail has got to be one of the best (and most unique). A must for avid hikers and history buffs alike, the 2-mile trail covers a range of terrains and leads to a Civil War fort. Take a look:
Located in Grenada, Lost Bluff Trail is a pretty tough trek – but it’s completely worth the effort since it features beautiful scenery, riverfront views, and a fort from the Civil War.
With lots of steep winding trails and steps, the 2.2-mile loop trail has an overall elevation gain of 344 feet, which is pretty rare in Mississippi, where most trails are relatively flat. .
Not long into the trek, you’ll come across a fort, which was built during the Civil War. There’s signage marking the historic spot along with some information about it.
Don’t feel like making the 2.2-mile trek to the historic fort? No problem. There’s actually a second fort, along with some cannons, located nearby. Click here for more information.
