Nicknamed “Mississippi’s Grand Canyon,” this state landmark is a geologic feature that has been formed by natural runoff. The Pearl River cut into these red banks of clay, soil, and sand, and the west bank is now exposed in a colorful display. The erosion has actually forced Mississippi Highway 587 to move at least two separate times.
