The pandemic has caused many things to come to a screeching halt. But Mother Nature must’ve not got the memo because crepe myrtle season is right on schedule. The colorful flowers have popped up all over Natchez, adding vibrant bursts of color to the already charming city. Even better, the Natchez International Crepe Myrtle Festival Committee has mapped out three self-guided tours, making it easy to take in the beautiful blooms – all while adhering to social distancing guidelines. Take a look:

The colorful flowers are typically in season throughout July, although, it’s not uncommon for the blooms to stick around into August.
With upwards of 10,000 crepe myrtle trees, finding the colorful flowers isn’t too difficult. However, just to make things even easier, the Natchez International Crepe Myrtle Festival Committee has developed three self-guided tours, each of which boast an abundance of blooms.

First, there’s the Downtown Walking Tour. Since this route winds through Natchez’s go-cup area, you can sip-and-see your way through the beautiful blooms that fill the city’s downtown.

The third and final tour is the Bloom Drive Trail. On this route, you’ll get to witness the blooms that surround some of Natchez’s most notable sites, including Monmouth and Stanton Hall as well as those along Melrose Avenue.

Providing a wonderful way to celebrate Natchez’s seasonal beauty in a low contact manner, these self-guided tours are perfect for a fun, safe day out.
