Now a Delta landmark, the Hollywood Café has had some legendary musicians perform within its walls throughout the years. Pianist Muriel Wilkins was a regular at the Hollywood, known for putting on impressive performances. In 1985, Wilkins, along with singer-songwriter Marc Cohn, performed several songs together. The experience was later immortalized in Cohn’s song, "Walking in Memphis."

Other notable performers included Delta blues icon Son House, who often performed with Willie Brown and several other local musicians. John Grisham, was also a regular at the Hollywood and even mentioned the legendary cafe in his novel, "A Time to Kill."

Although its rich musical history is a big part of the landmark’s allure, the Hollywood Café has another claim to fame – it’s the "home of the fried pickle."
