There’s just something so endearing about a general store. And while these types of stores aren’t nearly as common as they once were, they do still exist. Of the few still operating in Mississippi, Williams Brothers definitely stands out. Despite its rural location, the charming general store attracts visitors from near and far and has done so for decades. A real historic treasure, it’s absolutely delightful and you’ll want to visit. Take a look:
Known as "Williamsville" by locals, Williams Brothers is located in the small town of Philadelphia.
Even though the store offers a variety of "modern" merchandise, it has retained its old school feel - something you'll realize as soon as you walk through the door.
This area also includes the meat and cheese slicing station, which is probably the most popular feature of the store. The bacon and hoop cheese are the top sellers and said to be amazing.
Head to the back of the store, and you'll find a tack room filled with everything from small items, like feed, to larger merchandise, including stunningly crafted saddles.
After you make your way through the tack room, be sure to step out the backdoor and explore the garden area, where you'll find anything and everything you could possibly need for your garden.
Aside from an abundance of charm and nostalgia, Williams Brothers is known for its low prices and true southern hospitality – making for an all around great experience.
