If you thought enchanted forests existed only in fairy tales, think again! We’ve got our very own whimsical woodland right here in Mississippi, and it’s Tishomingo State Park. Both spectacular and surreal, it’s brimming with unbelievable beauty, which comes in the form of giant rock formations, unique greenery, cascading waterfalls, a swinging bridge, and more. Take a look:
Located northeast of Tupelo in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Tishomingo State Park features a unique terrain that you won’t find anywhere else in the state.
To soak in some of the park’s most enchanting sights, the two-mile Outcroppings Trail is the way to go. Not only does it start and end at the swinging bridge, but it follows a ridge of huge rock outcroppings.
There’s more to Tishomingo State Park than enchanting beauty and great hiking trails, though. The park also features picnic areas with tables and grills, disc golf courses, rock climbing, canoeing, and more.
