Though Daniella was born in New York and has lived in a couple of other states, Mississippi has been her home for more than 30 years. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi, Daniella began to hone her writing skills through various internships. Mississippi is full of cities that bear names with Native American roots. But the state’s Native American ties are much deeper than a few monikers. In fact, Mississippi was once “home to a greater variety of indigenous tribes than any other southeastern state.” Luckily, there are still a few places where you can explore this interesting part of the state’s past – and the Chickasaw Village Site is one of them.
