Got some free time on your hands? Why not use it as an opportunity to learn about the tasty small town gems, like Happy Daze, that are scattered throughout the Magnolia State? Hidden in a small town, the old-fashioned dairy bar is like something from a retro dream – right down to the classic fare. Take a look:
Small town Mississippi is full of tasty secrets – and Happy Daze is definitely one of them. You’ll find the eatery in Nesbit, which is a community in DeSoto County.
Despite its small town locale, it’s easy to find. Not only is it right off the highway, but there are two polar bears having a snowball fight out front.
And while the walk-up window is convenient, it doesn’t give you the chance to experience the eatery in all its retro glory. You’ll have to head inside for that.
Even the grub is reminiscent of dairy bars of the past. All the classics - burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, and onion rings - are on the menu. (Make sure to try the onion rings; they’re a customer favorite.)
Of course, the menu does feature a bit of a Mississippi twist - and that twist comes in the form of tasty offerings, like country fried steak, catfish plates, and hearty specialty salads.
Happy Daze is open 7 days a week. Visit Monday – Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. – 9 p.m., and on Sundays, from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. For more information, call (662) 429-0208. You can also visit the Happy Daze Facebook page.
