If you’re a fan of Chicago-style pizza, you’ll want to visit Windy City Grille. The restaurant may be a long way from Chicago but after one bite of the authentic pie, you’ll be convinced otherwise. Don’t want to commit to just pizza? No problem; the menu also includes classic dishes as well as local favorites, so diners can enjoy an array of cuisines. This is one taste bud-pleasing experience you don’t want to pass up. Take a look:
A small town of about 1,300, Como doesn’t seem to have much in common with Chicago. However, things aren’t always as they seem.
The restaurant was opened nearly 20 years ago by Chicago transplant, Anne May. Anne’s roots – and the fact that she makes the pizza dough herself each night – result in some of the most authentic pies around.
There are two options when it comes to the Chicago-style pie. You can go with the thin crust, or you can select the pie that put Chicago on the map, deep dish.
Like a national excursion for your taste buds, the menu also includes local favorites, such as fried catfish, Cajun shrimp, and, on select nights, boiled crawfish.
Windy City Grille opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call (662) 526-0331. You can also visit the Windy City Grille website or Facebook page. If you can’t make it to Como, Windy City Grille has a 2nd location in Hernando, which can be reached at (662) 449-0331.
