Serving made-from-scratch meals in a cozy setting, you’ll feel right at home at The Trace Grill.

The restaurant was founded by Kevin Thompson in 1999. By 2011, it moved to its current location in the old Alumni House in Gas Lamp Village on Highway 51 in Ridgeland.

Step inside, and you'll be greeted by the aroma of home cooked food along with a huge chalkboard displaying the menu.

If it’s variety you’re after, you’ve come to the right place. Order a blue plate special, and you can choose from 14 meats and 15 sides to create the perfect home cooked meal.

The hearty meal comes with two sides and costs just under $10. Feeling extra hungry? Add a 3rd side for less than $1!

Coming in 2nd only to the blue plates, the burgers are made with fresh ground chuck and served on white, wheat, or jalapeno cheddar buns, which are made onsite daily.

At The Trace Grill, "made from scratch" even applies to the salads, which are topped with homemade dressing. Among the tasty options, you’ll find Comeback dressing – a customer favorite.

If you manage to save room for dessert, you won't be disappointed. Pies, bread pudding, banana pudding, brownies, and cobbler are made fresh daily.

As if the food isn’t enough to make you feel at home, the walls of the dining room are decorated with large photos taken in Mississippi.

The classic southern fare combined with the laidback atmosphere and great service make it easy to see why The Trace Grill has remained a local favorite for the past 18 years.
