If there’s one thing that’s true about most restaurants in Mississippi, it’s that you’ll be given generous portions. Especially at southern-style restaurants. It’s just built into the whole “Southern hospitality” package you get when you’re in the South! That’s certainly the case when you dine at Roux 61, home to some of the biggest portions in Mississippi. Let’s check it out:
Roux 61 is one of Natchez’s most beloved restaurants.
It all began back in 2013 when two brothers decided to combine their culinary powers and open up the restaurant. It did so well, that they were able to expand to a second location, Roux 61 in Baton Rouge!
The family-friendly restaurant is a come-as-you-are, casual spot that's open for both lunch and dinner.
Roux 61 specializes in seafood, but you'll find plenty of burgers and chicken dishes, too. Just make sure to come hungry, because the portions are very generous!
Just look at those nachos! These seafood nachos are just one of the specialty starters you can choose from. The shrimp queso is unlike anything you've ever tasted before.
Roux 61 is known for many specialty creations, including the shrimp and alligator cheesecake, pictured below.
It's a fan favorite for a reason, give it a try! This savory cheesecake is a great starter for the table to share. I promise you'll be thinking about ways to recreate it at home.
From burgers to pasta, you'll find a wide range of options here.
Visit the Roux 61 website for more information, and be sure to follow Roux 61 on Facebook so you never miss out on any specialty creations.
While you’re exploring Natchez, you may want to spend a night or two in this charming town. The Guest House is a fabulous place to stay in Natchez. Not only will you be staying in a historic, 100+-year-old home, but you’ll be right in the middle of town with all of the town’s major attractions practically at your doorstep.
