Enterprise, Mississippi is a tiny little town home to about 500 people… definitely not a “destination town” where you dream about spending your vacation, but it is home to a very special, scenic spot that deserves an afternoon visit. Dunn’s Falls Waterpark has a very unique history that dates back to the 1800s, and it just so happens to be home to the tallest waterfall in Mississippi. Gas up the car and check this waterfall out ASAP!
Nestled against the Chunky River, Dunn’s Falls Waterpark is a perfect spot for anyone seeking a breath of fresh air and maybe a refreshing soak in the water.
The crown jewel of the park is Dunn’s Falls, a waterfall that was created by John Dunn in the 1850s to power a gristmill that was actually moved from Cave Springs, Georgia in 1987 and relocated here, at the site of Dunn’s original mill.
The park is also a nature preserve, with several nature trails and picnic tables peppered around
Sounds like a perfect way to spend the day, right? If you want to extend your visit, there are a few primitive campsites where you can pitch a tent and spend a night sleeping under the stars.
