It’s pretty common knowledge that many Mississippi gas stations double as great eateries. But did you know there’s a gas station in the Magnolia State that includes an incredible bakery? Well, there is, and you (along with your sweet tooth) will definitely want to visit. Take a look:
This is Buck’s One Stop. It’s tucked away in the tiny town of Calhoun City.
Even though it looks like a typical gas station, it’s anything but…and that’s because it’s home to the most delicious bakery that’s known for its cakes and pies.
Step inside, and in addition to the usual variety of gas station merchandise, you’ll notice a cooler filled to the brim with cakes and pies – all of which are made on-site.
The talent behind the baked goods, Nanny and Poppa (as they’re known by regulars), get to the bakery early each day to begin work on their sweet treats.
The cakes come in all sorts of flavors, each just as delicious as the next. However, as far as popularity goes, the caramel cake takes the cake. (Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.)
The popular southern dessert features a crispy crust and fruit filling, which in this case is either apple or peach. (Told you making a decision wouldn’t be as easy as pie.)
Buck’s One Stop is located at 601 N Main St., Calhoun City, MS 38916. For more information, call (662) 628-6822 or visit the gas station’s Facebook page.
