The holiday season is full of traditions, like cutting down your own Christmas tree. And if you’ve never cut down your own tree, there’s no time like the present to start. Lucky for you, we already found the perfect tree farm for you to visit with the fam. And with free hayrides and a store stocked with Christmas décor and gifts, it’s sure to become a new seasonal must-visit. Take a look:
Small town Mississippi is full of wonderful places, including the mid-South’s #1 Christmas tree farm, Merry Christmas Tree Farm.
Merry Christmas Tree Farms has been delivering merriment and helping families make memories since 1990! This year, the farm will open on November 23, 2019.
The search for the perfect Christmas tree begins with a free hayride out to the farm’s choose and cut field, where you’ll find Leyland Cypress and Blue Sapphire trees.
Once you pick out a tree, you can get to sawing or have someone at the farm cut it down. But the trees out in the field aren’t the only trees you’ll find at Merry Christmas Tree Farm. There are also pre-cut trees.
For easier handling (and in the spirit of true southern hospitality), the folks at the farm net the tree for you at no extra charge. They even shake the tree full of debris and help you load it up.
Trees aren’t the only thing you can purchase at the farm, though. The grounds also include Norma Jean’s Gift Shop, which is stocked with a Yule tide assortment that's sure to impress.
Step inside, and you’ll find unique decorations and gifts that you won’t find in big box stores. To get the most bang for your buck, visit the shop during its Open House on November 24th, when all the merchandise is 20% off!
Remember, the Merry Christmas Tree Farm opens for the 2019 season on November 23rd. Prior to opening for the season, photo shoots can be scheduled at the farm. For more information, call (662) 429-9462. You can also visit the farm’s website or Facebook page.
