As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
With so many incredible sites lining the Natchez Trace Parkway, it can be hard to decide which to visit. However, one that shouldn’t be missed is the Council House Café. Situated in the middle of a quaint village and housed in a cabin that dates back to the 1800s, the setting is as memorable as the homemade fare. Take a look:
Part of the French Camp Historic Village, the Council House Café is a true hidden gem that shouldn’t be missed.
Open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, from 10:30 am – 7 pm, the Council House Café is known for its hearty sandwiches, homemade soups, and crisp salads.
Of all the sandwiches on the menu, Big Ed's BLT is by far the most popular. The "famous" creation includes 10 pieces of crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, and the eatery's signature spicy garlic mayonnaise.
The Broccoli Salad is another customer favorite. Perfect as a side or a meal, the "sweet and crunchy" salad is made by combining broccoli, pecans, bacon, and tomatoes and then topping it all with house dressing.
With tasty treats like Mississippi Mud Cake and caramel-drenched bread pudding, saving room for dessert is practically a must at the Council House Cafe.
Think your fun ends when your meal does? Think again! There's lots to see on the property, including the Log Cabin Gift Shop, which sells handmade arts, crafts, quilts, and other unique items.
