Salvo Serio opened Serio’s Restaurant in 1943. It was initially located in a small building at the corner of Mississippi Avenue and Alabama Street in Greenwood.

Salvo came to the U.S. from Cefalu, Sicily. Using family recipes, his namesake restaurant quickly garnered a reputation for its authentic Italian fare.
