The list of must-visit Mississippi attractions just got a bit longer, and that’s because a new children’s museum has opened. Officially dubbed the Mississippi Children’s Museum-Meridian (MCM-Meridian), the state-of-the-art facility encompasses 25,000 square feet and is brimming with exhibits and activities that are fun and engaging for kids…and kids at heart.

Opened on March 27, 2021, MCM-Meridian is the state’s newest (and most anticipated) attraction.

MCM-Meridian is a satellite campus of the Mississippi Children's Museum, so it’s somewhat similar to the Mississippi Children’s Museum in Jackson.

Though only recently opened, the museum has been in the works for quite some time – since 2015, to be exact.

And it looks like the wait was well worth it, as the first-class museum is brimming with exhibits that’ll spark creativity, imagination, discovery, and learning.

In addition to interactive exhibits, the 25,000-square-foot museum features a 2-story library, which may look familiar since it was inspired by the book, “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.”
