Living in Mississippi is truly an experience all its own. To us residents, it’s pretty much perfect, but to outsiders, there are some aspects that may seem a bit strange. While many residents have probably never thought twice about some of these out-of-the-ordinary aspects, most have experienced them.

1. You’ve been told, “Sorry, we don’t have that,” when ordering sweet tea at an out-of-town restaurant.

3. You’ve missed school or work for “bad weather” days.

4. You’ve ended up drenched in sweat at the end of the day because you dressed according to that morning’s weather.

There are so many days in the fall, and even winter, that start off freezing (65 degrees) and end up a sweltering 90 degrees.
5. You’ve had to remove a snake, raccoon, bird, or some other type of unwanted animal from your home.
