The Magnolia State has various stunning features, from the waters of the mighty Mississippi River to the sprawling lowland plains and verdant farmland. There are also several stunning waterfalls here, and the fertile landscape supports fantastic conditions for vineyards. Today, we’re going to explore a multi-day wine and waterfalls road trip in Mississippi to get to know some of the state’s most lively and most peaceful sites.
We’ve prepared an itinerary for your convenience, and it can easily be customized to include any other Mississippi landmarks you’d like to visit. 1. Yellow Creek Waterfall
Yellow Creek Waterfall, 613 Co Rd 321, Iuka, MS 38852, USA
This Iuka-area beauty is a dose of pure splendor. Located along the Mississippi-Alabama border, this beautiful spot is tucked away in J P Coleman State Park. It is hiding on Pickwick Lake, which has gained particular popularity among boating enthusiasts.
There are several lovely waterfalls tucked away in Tishomingo State Park. They vary in size depending on recent rainfall, but you'll encounter everything from a trickle to a full crest as you explore the park. The waters of Bear Creek flow through the park's 1,530 acres and its trails span from less than one mile to three miles in length. There's something for everyone here!
3. Queen's Reward Meadery
Queen's Reward Meadery, 1719 McCullough Blvd, Tupelo, MS 38801, USA
After you explore the massive expanse of Tishomingo State Park, you'll find yourself ready to unwind. If you're a fan of the sweeter things in life, Queen's Reward Meadery is going to be one of your favorite highlights on this trip. Open Tuesday through Saturday, this pretty place breathes added life into the flavor of Mississippi-produced honey. You can purchase mead by the glass in their tasting room, so there's ample opportunity to sample.
Your first day of adventures will include a bit of driving, so you might find yourself getting tired as the day winds down. Fortunately, there are several lovely spots to stay overnight in Tupelo. The Best Western Plus Tupelo Inn & Suites is right in town, conveniently located along our route.
4. Jim Saucier Memorial Park
Jim Saucier Memorial Park, 8710 Northwest Dr, Southaven, MS 38671, USA
Water features are half the fun at Jim Saucier Memorial Park! Complete with an on-lake fountain, a man-made waterfall, and a lovely bridge, this petite park is a real gem. Plus, its location will place you right in Southaven, one of the largest and most culturally-rich cities in the state. Grab lunch and explore the area for a bit, because our next destination is going to take a bit of driving to get to. Stretch your legs while you can!
At 65 feet in height, this waterfall is a bit bigger than the last. Its powerful flow once fueled local mills, and the adjacent Historic Carroll-Richardson Gristmill is actually open to the public for tours. If you have time, pay it a visit! However, we've got a few other destinations on our list for today.
Compared to many local waterfalls, Seminary Falls is rather small... but the surrounding waters provide the perfect place to canoe! The waters of Okatoma Creek are energetic, and various outfitters along the creek have canoes, kayaks, and other vessels available for rental. Getting out on the water is the best way to see this waterfall in person!
7. Twin Forks Wine + Provisions

Ready for a vineyard visit? You've earned it with all the driving today! Twin Forks Wine + Provisions is a wine shop that's too charming for words. It is open Monday through Saturday, and it's a great place to grab wine, cheese, and other accoutrements. Grab a bottle to go — you'll appreciate it back at the hotel!
You’ve been busy today! Rest up at Best Western Premier University Inn. It’s beautiful, and the surrounding city is, too. You’ll find yourself conveniently poised to embark on the next leg of our adventure tomorrow.
With 700 acres of untamed natural space, it's no wonder there is a waterfall hiding in Clark Creek Natural Area. In fact, there are several waterfalls here... and they range in size from a modest trickle to nearly 30 feet in height. You could easily spend all day in this spot... and you should! See how many waterfalls you can find in its gorgeous campus. Bring your camera!
9. Old South Winery
Old South Winery, 65 S Concord Ave, Natchez, MS 39120, USA
This quaint winery is open Monday through Friday, and it is overflowing with charm. It has been a local favorite since 1979, and in that time, its wine has been more than perfected. In fact, they produce some of the best finest muscadine table wine in the state!
While you’re in the area, Magnolia Bluffs Casino Hotel, BW Premier Collection is the perfect place to set up a home base. It’s a comfortable place to stay if you plan to get to know the Natchez nightlife. Of course, Jackson isn’t too far from here! If you’d like to extend your trip by a day or two, you can head into Jackson for added adventure. You can stay at the Best Western Richland Inn & Suites or the Best Western Plus Flowood Inn & Suites as you’re exploring all that Jackson has to offer.
