We’ve all heard of New York-style pizza and Chicago-style pizza. But did you know there’s a Mississippi-style pizza? It’s true, and you’ll only find it at The Bank by Pizza Shack. But the one-of-a-kind pies aren’t the only unique thing about the eatery. There’s also the fact that it’s housed in a former bank. Take a look:
The Bank by Pizza Shack is located in the Olde Towne Historic District in Clinton.
The original Pizza Shack opened in Jackson back in 2005. Since that time, another location was opened in Madison, and in 2017, The Bank by Pizza Shack became the newest addition to the culinary chain.
And while many things were changed, there are still a few nods to its former life as a bank – like the bar, which is covered with a variety of coins and currency.
So, just what is Mississippi-style pizza? Well, each pie begins with a special dough and unique sauce, but it’s the unique topping combinations that really set the pies apart.
The inventive pies include mouthwatering creations, like Chicken Bacon Ranch. As amazing as it sounds, it’s made with garlic Ranch sauce, chicken breast, bacon, mozzarella, cheddar, banana peppers, and diced tomatoes topped with a Ranch swirl.
Uncle Ray Ray’s is another regionally inspired pie. Bursting with flavor, it’s made with Béchamel sauce, mozzarella, crawfish tails, onion, bell peppers, and alligator andouille sausage.
Imaginative topping blends aren’t all you’ll find on the menu, though. There’s also a build-your-own-pizza option as well as a variety of wings, sandwiches, and salads.
