And now, as we welcome 2019, it seemed like the perfect time to look back at some of the can’t-miss places we’ve highlighted. So, get your planner out and keep reading to discover 10 awesome outings you’ve got to take this year… or at least before you die.
1. Go for a thrilling ride on one of the state’s most unique water slides.

2. Hike through an ancient forest.
Located in Flora, Mississippi’s Petrified Forest is home to 36-million-year-old trees! But the age of the trees isn’t the only thing that makes the forest interesting. 3. Travel back in time with a visit to a historic park.
Immerse yourself in history with a visit to Grand Gulf Military Park, which you’ll find about 10 miles north of Port Gibson in the ghost town of Grand Gulf. We may not have a lot of waterfalls in Mississippi, but we sure do have some pretty ones — and Cooper Falls is a perfect example. The stunning 50-foot waterfall is located on Pickwick Lake in Iuka.
