Indulge On Out-Of-This-World Handmade Ice Cream At Area 51 In Mississippi

Not all ice cream is created equal. And if you need proof, just pay a visit to Area 51. No, not that Area 51. The Area 51 we’re referring to is an ice cream shop in Hernando. But not just any ice cream shop. This creamery specializes in “farm-to-scoop” ice cream, which, as the name implies, is made of only the freshest ingredients. Take a look:
Located in a Hernando shopping center, Area 51 is easy to find, and that’s a good thing because it serves up some of the state’s best ice cream.
The shop opened in 2014 and has quickly become a regional favorite. Don’t be surprised if there’s a line when you visit (but believe us, it’s well worth the wait).
Other factors that play into the ice cream’s tastiness are that it’s made in small batches and spun at a slower RPM than most other ice creams. The result is a thicker ice cream with a unique texture.
Don’t worry, though. Classics, like chocolate-based flavors, are sold year-round. But don’t think that means they don’t consist of quality ingredients. The chocolate-based items are made using Callebaut, a top notch chocolate with Belgium origins.
