Made using only the freshest of ingredients, Amish goods tend to be pretty tasty. And if you’re looking for a place to stock up on some delicious Amish items, look no further than Captain’s Amish Country Store. Though small in size, the shop is stocked with 40 kinds of Amish cheese, noodles, butter, jams, jellies, relishes, and more. Take a look:
This is Captain's Amish Country Store. It's located along Highway 45 in Meridian.
Because of its location on the Highway, it’s a popular stop for locals and tourists alike. Since opening seven years ago, the shop has had visitors from all over the country, including Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Michigan, and Missouri.
Inside, there’s an undeniable general store vibe. But you’ll quickly realize this is no typical general store, and that’s because it’s stocked mostly with products that are made by an Amish community in Ohio.
Among the dozens of Amish products, you’ll find an assortment of jarred goods, including jams and jellies. The impressive variety even includes sugar free options.
As if it couldn't get any better, the store even carries fresh produce, which is purchased from local sellers as well as a farmers market in Birmingham, Alabama.
The merchandise isn’t confined to the interior of the shop, though. Outside, there are beautifully crafted swings, rocking chairs, and gliders – all of which are made by a Mennonite community in Missouri.
Captain’s Amish Country Store is located at 7966 Highway 45 N, Meridian, MS 39305. It’s open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information, call (601) 490-1913. You can also visit the store’s Facebook page.
