If you’re looking for a good burger, you might as well try the best in the country, and luckily, it’s right here in Mississippi.
The results are in! And according to the food, drink, and travel site Thrillist.com, the Neon Pig Café in Tupelo is home to the "Best Burger in America."
After totaling 27,000 votes, the Tupelo café’s signature Smash Burger was determined the winner with 56.47% of the vote, beating out eateries in "food-centric" cities like Chicago and Austin.

So, just what is a Smash Burger? The mouthwatering creation includes aged filet, ribeye, strip steak, sirloin, bacon, comeback sauce, melted cheddar, pickled onions, pickles and more bacon piled on a ciabatta bun, perfect for soaking up all the juices.
The fresh ingredients play a big part in what makes the Smash Burger so delicious. Aside from being a restaurant, the Neon Pig Café is also a fully-functioning butcher shop, so the bacon is made on-site.
The restaurant also makes its own buns, pickled vegetables, sauces, and dry rubs, and whatever isn’t made in-house is purchased locally whenever possible.
