Thanks to drones, we can view familiar sights from new heights or take in places we have never seen before. Deer Island is likely the latter. The small, uninhabited island lies just a few miles off the state’s coastline. But without regular ferry service to the island, most residents have never visited — and that’s a shame because it’s truly beautiful. Luckily, Mississippi State University GSI and the Guice Agency captured some incredible footage of the island. Take a look:

Deer Island is open to the public. However, since visitors must provide their own transportation to the island, many are unable to access it. Fortunately for us, though, there’s this incredible footage of Deer Island, so we can gawk at its beauty from afar — and pretty much every other angle.
