We Mississippians have a reputation for our friendly ways. And while we do go out of our way to be hospitable, we have our breaking points. From comments about our accents to going to Walmart, here are 11 life experiences most Mississippians would rather do without.

1. Having to listen to outsiders spell "Mississippi."

3. Dealing with rude people.

4. Being asked what "hotty toddy" means.

If you’re at an Ole Miss game, you’ll definitely hear this age-old chant. As to what it means? Ole Miss fans don’t have time to explain, they’re too busy cheering on their team.
5. Hearing visitors complain about the weather.

7. Listening to outsiders brag about their home state’s barbecue.

Okay, so lots of southern states claim to have the best barbecue. But after tasting Mississippi’s barbecue, you’ll quickly see why we Mississippians claim to have the best around.
8. Prepping for a hurricane.

From boarding up windows to fighting crowds for hurricane supplies, there’s nothing worse than getting ready for an impending storm.
9. Giving directions to an outsider.

Here in Mississippi, directions are given in terms of minutes, landmarks, or unique measurements, such as "up the road a ways" or "over yonder." If you don’t hail from the great state of Mississippi, understanding these directions can be a bit tough.
10. Asking for sweet tea and getting an unsweet tea with a sugar packet.
