The perfect place to find some merriment and holiday spirit, these areas are a must visit during Christmastime. Just to get you started, here are 10 cities in Mississippi with “main streets” and downtown areas that will turn your holiday into pure magic.
A recipient of the "Great American Main Street Award," Washington Avenue gets even more picturesque during the Christmas season as it’s adorned in twinkling lights and festive decorations. And since the street is lined with galleries, boutiques, and quaint shops, it’s the perfect place for some Christmas shopping.
Each holiday season, the Old Town area of Bay St. Louis is transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland, thanks to plenty of twinkling lights, glowing snowflakes, and nightly festivities.
Draped in sparkling lights, the vibrantly-colored buildings that line Yazoo’s Main Street get even brighter during the Christmas season. There are even trolley and carriage rides, which are perfect ways to take in the festive street.
Each year, Brookhaven kicks off the holiday season with a Christmas parade in the city’s downtown area, which is adorned in twinkling lights and decorations, creating a truly magical setting.
