1. French Camp Historic District (100 Robinson Dr., French Camp)
Offering visitors the chance to experience early American life for themselves, French Camp is made up of several historic buildings, a museum filled with primitive antiques and memorabilia, and a bed and breakfast constructed from two log cabins that were originally built between 1840 and 1870, making for an unforgettable overnight stay.
2. Blue Creek Cabin Bed and Breakfast (535 MS-30, Oxford)
Those looking for an authentic log cabin experience will appreciate this gem, as it was originally built in the 1800s and is filled with hand carved furnishings and antiques. The two-bedroom cabin also features a number of favorable amenities, including a wood-burning stove, Amish handmade copper bathtub, and in true southern fashion, a wraparound porch complete with swings and rockers.

3. Tishomingo State Park (105 Co Rd. 90, Tishomingo)
Named one of the "Top 25 Educational and Historic Facilities" in the entire country, Tishomingo State Park is teeming with history, and that history includes this cabin, which dates back to the 1800s.

4. Grand Gulf Military Park (12006 Grand Gulf Rd., Port Gibson)
To really head back in time, explore Grand Gulf Military Park’s Scotia - a one-room cabin that dates back to 1768. The historic dwelling was originally located in Roxie but was moved to the park in 1976.
5. Prairie Wildlife (3990 Old Vinton Rd., West Point)
Part of the Prairie Wildlife sporting estate, this log cabin was built in 1845. Now available for rental, the cabin has been updated with all the modern amenities and services you could ask for.
A replica of a standard 1800s settlement, this Laurel attraction includes over 60 buildings and displays. The historically accurate village includes this cabin as well as a general store, smokehouse, shooting gallery, trading post, Indian village, schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, a chapel, and more.
Located just outside of Richton, you'll find Fulmer's Farmstead, which includes acres of farmland, livestock, a general store, and this historic log cabin, which is estimated to be at least a century old.
8. Mitchell Farms (650 Leaf River Church Rd., Collins)
Encompassing 1,500 acres, there’s a lot to see at Mitchell Farms, and that includes this historic cabin, which was constructed more than a century ago. Maintained throughout the years, the cabin is filled with memorabilia and is available for touring.

9. The Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Museum (1150 Lakeland Dr., Jackson)
Part of the museum’s Small Town USA exhibit, this one-room log cabin was built in the mid-1800s and originally served as the main house on a farm in Jefferson Davis County. The cabin was moved to the museum and restored in 1981.
As the sign indicates, this dated cabin once served as the Pocahontas Trading Post. Now classified as an unincorporated community, Pocahontas is located in the northern part of Hinds County.
