When it comes to quirky roadside attractions, Minnesota has more than its share. From giant fish to funky water towers, there’s always something unique to see on any road trip. If you ever find yourself traveling through southwestern Minnesota, you may be interested in the roadside attraction we want to introduce today. It’s a vintage windmill farm that is sure to delight. Check it out:
Windmill Farm is a little-known roadside attraction in the tiny town of Jasper, Minnesota. It's in the state's southwestern corner, about 200 miles from Minneapolis.
Though the attraction is remote, it's an easy stop along the way to other southwestern Minnesota destinations, such as Blue Mounds State Park or Pipestone National Monument. Not only that, but you'll get to travel through the beautiful prairie countryside.
The collection comes from all around the world. There are pieces from right here in the United States, and there are pieces from as far away as the Netherlands, China, and beyond.
There are 44 windmills in total, each a uniquely beautiful sight as it rises over the farm-covered prairie. They are not as big as the massive wind turbines that dot the prairie today, but they are still an interesting reminder of the past.
