Here in Minnesota, we are lucky to have many wonderful parks available to us. First and foremost, we have more than 60 gorgeous state parks that let us experience Minnesota’s most beautiful nature and historic areas. But there are also many other parks as well. Popular parks such as Duluth’s Rose Garden or the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden delight crowds daily. But there are excellent places that are little lesser known as well. For example, Franconia Sculpture Garden, Ramsey Park, and the undiscovered park we’d like to feature today. People of all ages love visiting Taft Park in Richfield, Minnesota because it offers perfect opportunities to watch planes land. Take a look:
Taft Park is a park in the southern Twin Cities suburb of Richfield, Minnesota. It's a popular place for people in the area to spend some time outdoors. It also happens to be right on the edge of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The park offers visitors plenty to do. Taft Lake is a popular spot for fishing. There's even a fishing pier where you can cast a line and wait for a bite.
Kids love the playground at Taft Park. There are swings, slides, and a jungle gym to climb up and down. This is a great place to let your youngsters release some energy!
Sports fields also make Taft Park a busy place. There are basketball courts, soccer fields, and a baseball diamond. There are often games happening here, making this a lively spot to hang out.
Walking trails throughout the park make it easy to see the sights and get some exercise. They'll also allow you to see one of the park's most notable features: the planes that fly overhead.
Because of the park's proximity to the airport, planes fly overhead very often. On any given visit, you're bound to see at least one plane land at nearby MSP.
If you're a plane enthusiast - or you just enjoy visiting Minnesota's unique places - you'll love your visit to Taft Park. There's plenty to do, and you're likely to see an airplane landing up close!
