Christmas comes but once a year, and many Minnesota attractions make the most of it. An abundance of spots around the state get decked out in twinkle lights and garland. All are beautiful, but there is perhaps no holiday attraction in Minnesota as unique as the one at the Alexander Ramsey House. This historic St. Paul museum – formerly the home of Minnesota’s second governor – is beautiful all year. But during the holidays, the Victorian Christmas event at the Ramsey House is truly something special. Read on to learn everything you need to know about visiting this winter.
The Alexander Ramsey House is a beautiful St. Paul home that was once the residence of Minnesota's second governor, Alexander Ramsey. It was built in 1868.
Guests are invited on a guided tour through the house, complete with costumed tour guides. You'll get an up-close view of what Christmas was really like in the late 1800s.
The entire house is transformed into a Victorian Christmas celebration. The guided tour lasts 60 minutes and will put you in a festive mood thanks to the decorations, wood-burning stove, and holiday music.
Visit Victorian Christmas at the Alexander Ramsey House any weekend between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve. Tickets are $8 for children and $12 for adults. The experience is well worth the cost!
