Between our sparkling lakes, waving prairies, and thick forests, the Land of 10,000 Lakes is home to more than a few wonderful little towns that are well worth exploring. In fact, some of the most charming towns in the United States are right here in Minnesota. One of our favorites is a northern Minnesota town overflowing with charm, activity, and beauty. Take a look:
Pequot Lakes, Minnesota is in the northern half of Minnesota. It’s about 2.5 hours east of Duluth and north of the Twin Cities. The closest city is Brainerd.
There are lots of parks and trails, too. Mayo Lake Nature Preserve is a lovely spot for a hike. If you prefer biking, try cruising down the Paul Bunyan State Trail.
There are plenty of nearby campgrounds, resorts, and hotels. Whether you visit for a fishing trip or small-town exploration, you'll find your perfect place.
All in all, Pequot Lakes is a beautiful spot that is one of the most charming places in Minnesota. Next time you're in the area, be sure to stop in for a visit!
