6. End-O-Line Railroad Park and Museum - Currie
We started in the north, but now it's time to go to Minnesota's farthest southern reaches. No matter how far you have to travel to get there, this park and museum is definitely worthy of a stop. Located in Currie, it is home to some of the original rails that used to run through the area in the 1800s. Not only that, but it has a real steam engine, a caboose, and a manual-operated turntable that was once used for turning trains around at the end of the line. The park also contains replicas of old buildings, a playground, and a model train display. It'll impress kids and adults alike. Address: 440 Mill Street, Currie.
7. Old Railroad Inn Bed & Breakfast - Jackson
You probably haven't had much of a reason to visit Jackson, Minnesota. Until now, that is. This little inn isn't a former railway station or a museum of railroad artifacts. But it does have an interesting connection to Minnesota's railroad history. In the 1880s, the building was once a boardinghouse for rail workers. Today, it pays homage to that history while still providing a comfortable place to lay your head. For more information, click

Address: 219 Moore Street, Jackson.
