Lake City, Minnesota, is a gorgeous town in southeastern Minnesota. It's about 70 miles south of the Twin Cities.

What makes the town so great? For one thing, it's located in one of the most beautiful areas in all of Minnesota: the Mississippi River at Lake Pepin.

This naturally occurring widening of the Mississppi is actually the widest spot on the entire river.

Lake Pepin is a well-known spot for sailing. Even if you don't have a boat on the lake, it's a picturesque place to watch them sail across the water.

In addition to the sailboats, you can also find a spot above town to watch trains pass - or just look at the incredible rock formations along the river.
