With as many cute towns as Minnesota has, it may seem impossible to visit them all. From north to south, there is a charming downtown to visit down just about every road. They’re full of beautiful historic buildings, great activities, and wonderful people. That goes double for Marine-on-St. Croix, the tiny town in Minnesota that is too adorable for words.
Marine on St. Croix is a tiny town about 40 miles northeast of the Twin Cities. The population is only about 700 people.
Marine on St. Croix also has a charming downtown filled with historic buildings. Many, like the 1888 village hall, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
You can get a taste of history by exploring some of the town's historic sites, like the Stonehouse Museum. Once used as both a town hall and a jail, it is an interesting look at the history of the town's early settlers.
Around the corner from the general store is the General Scoop. This little ice cream parlor is the perfect place to enjoy a summer day in small-town Minnesota.
And if you have a sweet tooth, this tiny town even has its own chocolate shop! The St. Croix Chocolate Company makes excellent artisan chocolates that you will love.
