Here in Minnesota, there are many ways to catch close-up glimpses of beautiful flowers. Those who love wildflowers might enjoy the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden. Or if you crave a little wine to go with your blooms, you might take a trip up to the flower garden winery in Kenyon, Minnesota. Today, we add yet another flower-viewing opportunity to the list. This one is at a farm, and it’s positively beautiful. Read on to learn about Minnesota’s magical sunflower field that most people don’t know about:
Treasured Haven Farm is a family-owned organic farm in Rush City, Minnesota. Address: 53407 Government Road, Rush City, Minnesota 55069.
The farm covers hundreds of acres of countryside. They grow vegetables, corn, oats, barley, and hay. They also produce animal products such as eggs and meat, and maple syrup.
The farm frequently hosts events that give visitors a glimpse of farm living. Dinners and workshops help teach people about all that goes into producing the food they eat.
Trail running is another popular activity that Treasured Haven hosts. Adventure runs, 5ks, and even a half marathon – dubbed the Veggie Run – are popular events each year.
The viewing opportunities last until the end of the season, when it is time to let the sunflowers dry in the field. Then, they are harvested for their black oil sunflower seeds!
Sunflower viewing times vary every year, but they are usually ready by early to mid August. Check into the Treasured Haven Farm website or Facebook page to get updates on when the field is ready for viewing!
