Each spring, Lanesboro’s Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center (“ELC”) hosts its Maple Syrup Fest which, as you’ve likely surmised, is a maple syrup festival in Minnesota. Come along to learn more about where maple syrup comes from, how it’s made, and to sample the results.
Eagle Bluff ELC sits high above the valley of the Root River, in the hardwood forest that lines the bluffs of southeast Minnesota's "driftless area."
Its forest location makes it a perfect spot for harvesting maple tree sap, which is used in making the maple syrup we enjoy on pancakes, waffles, and French toast.
During its annual Maple Syrup Fest, visitors can learn all about the process of making maple syrup, which starts with tapping a tree.
Don’t forget that Eagle Bluff is home to some gorgeous trails, so bring your boots (or snowshoes if needed) and explore a little more of the property after you’ve had your fill of the festival.
Maple Syrup Fest at Eagle Bluff ELC does require tickets. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit Eagle Bluff’s website. Since you’ll be in the area, be sure to take some time to explore the charming town of Lanesboro, which is just a short distance from the environmental learning center. The Branding Iron, a supper club in quaint Preston, is a great place for a dinner stop in the area.
Have you attended Maple Syrup Fest at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center? Are there any other maple syrup festivals in Minnesota that we should know about?
