Here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, we have access to 67 state parks and many other state recreation areas, scientific and natural areas, state trails, and more. Because there is so much to do, it’s easy to overlook some quieter spots in favor of more flashy attractions. That’s why most Minnesotans haven’t heard of the state park we would like to feature today. But Split Rock Creek State Park, in the state’s southwestern corner, is a perfectly peaceful oasis that makes for a wonderful weekend excursion. Here’s what you can expect when you visit this quiet little prairie park:
Have you been to Split Rock Creek State Park? In addition to the park itself, there are many attractions nearby. For example, visit the gorgeous and historic Pipestone National Monument, see buffalo among the pink cliffs at Blue Mounds State Park, or visit a secret waterfall at Touch the Sky Prairie.
