Let’s be honest: all of Minnesota is a winter wonderland every year. Our beautiful state, especially when covered in a fresh blanket of snow, is simply magical. But there are some little towns that really kick things up a notch. One of our favorites is the tiny resort town of Breezy Point. Read on to learn about this small-town winter wonderland:
Breezy Point is a tiny town of just over 2,300 people. It’s in the northern half of he state, about 140 miles north of the Twin Cities and 120 miles west of Duluth.
This lakeside town is most known for its gorgeous resorts. It’s a common summer vacation destination. Many make an annual tradition of visiting a resort or lakeside cabin in he area.
The annual Ice Fest is a great way to get out and show everyone your skating skills – or your spectating skills. It’s a pond hockey tournament that is fun to play in and watch.
If hockey’s not your thing, other activities include horse-drawn hayrides, snow golf, an ice slide, food, and more! This winter’s Ice Fest is on January 6, 2019.
The other big winter event in Breezy Point is the polar plunge! Take an icy dip into Pelican Lake next March 2, 2019. Trust us, you’ll never forget it.
If you’re not in Breezy Point during an event, you can certainly still appreciate the outdoors. Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing are popular activities.
