The Land of 10,000 Lakes has almost as many fall traditions! From fall color drives up north to haunted houses to a glowing pumpkin trail, there’s something to do every weekend of the autumn season. But in between all the festivities, make sure you leave room for one of Minnesota’s most classic fall traditions: a trip to Sever’s Fall Festival in Shakopee. For 25 years, they’ve invited people from all around Minnesota and beyond to enjoy countless fun fall activities. Read on below to learn more about what you’ll find when you visit:
Sever's Fall Festival is a popular autumn event in Shakopee, Minnesota. It's been around since 1997 and is the Midwest's original fall festival. For the 2021 season, they’re open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from September 10 through October 31. They’re also open during MEA weekend, on Thursday, October 21, and Friday, October 22.
Like every year, this year's fall festival is filled with favorite fall activities. To start with, you can pick out a couple of pumpkins to carve for Halloween.
The giant slide is always a fun stop. Climb all the way to the top, then slide down on a burlap sack. Kids and adults alike will enjoy racing on this slide!
But of course, you can't leave without giving Sever's most famous attraction a go: its biggest-in-the-Midwest corn maze. Each year, an impressively complex pattern is cut into the corn. Past years have included monkeys, dinosaurs, maps, and many other designs.
