Minnesota is full of fantastic restaurants. From Duluth to the Twin Cities to Rochester, you can find pretty much everything you need to satisfy your cravings. But those aren’t the only places to get great grub. If you’re up for a little exploration outside the major cities, you just might find something that surprises you. One example? Riverside By the Root, a secluded restaurant in southern Minnesota with gorgeous scenery you’re bound to love.
Riverside by the Root is located in Lanesboro, a two-hour drive south of the Twin Cities. The tiny town has less than 1,000 people, but it's full of beauty.
This river is well-known in southern Minnesota for being truly gorgeous. It flows for 80 miles through scenic Bluff Country. Its gentle flow makes the river perfect for canoeing.
The restaurant is also home to a martini lounge, so you'll be able to get a great drink with your meal. And it's all made even better by the nature that surrounds you.
