Dining Car #423 is a restaurant in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. It’s found right in the town’s downtown area, next to the railroad tracks at the former Cascade Street Station of the Northern Pacific Railway Station.
Beginning in 2012, the owners restored the old 1920 train station to become a beautiful restaurant. Thanks to its long history as a place for both passengers and freight to travel across the state, it is even listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
When you visit, you’ll easily be able to see the influence of history here. The dining room is full of original details. The restaurant still holds the original ticket office, baggage area, passenger waiting rooms, and more. This place truly is a piece of history!
Of course, you won’t just be visiting to check out the restaurant’s history. This spot also serves up amazing food! There are many great choices on the menu. You may enjoy the wide menu of appetizers, including cheese curds, chicken wings, fried green tomatoes, and even deviled eggs. Yum!
