Being the Land of 10,000 Lakes, it makes sense that Minnesotans have more than a few riverfront or lakefront restaurants to choose from. Guests can choose to drive in to enjoy the waterside scenery, or boat in and enjoy it every mile of the way. But there’s one restaurant in Minnesota that doesn’t give visitors a choice to drive. In northern Minnesota, you can only get to the Sportsman’s Oak Island Lodge by boat. But the trip is totally worth it — the food is delicious!
Sportsman's Lodge is a small group of lodges in northern Minnesota. There are three in total, each just about as far north as you can go in Minnesota.
Of course, you're not going to travel all that way without spending the night. Each of the Sportsman's Lodges has comfortable cabins and beds. The Oak Island lodge has a capacity of 44 people, making it the perfect place to get away from it all.
But beyond sleeping and fishing, you're going to have to eat. Luckily, Sportsman's Oak Island Lodge has a comfortable dining area, complete with indoor recreation.
