Minnesota is a state with a lot of spooky spots. Like anywhere else, we have cemeteries and battlegrounds, creepy bridges and haunted houses. But it turns out you don’t have to go too far off the beaten path to have a creepy encounter in Minnesota. There are many haunted hideaways in our state – so many that you probably have one closer to home than you may think. Here are the 10 best places to spot a ghost in Minnesota.
Some say that the ghost of a woman who hung herself on the premises now haunts this popular downtown music venue. Whatever you do, don't go into the women's bathroom. One guest saw the ghost hanging in the fifth stall.
Hamline University has its share of ghost stories too. At Old Main, an employee once saw a man floating through the hall with a noose around his neck. There are also stories of a severed hand crawling around Drew Hall looking for its arm.

This double-decker bridge joining the East and West Banks of the University of Minnesota campus has suffered more than its share of suicides over the years. As a result, some say the bridge is haunted. Those who walk across the pedestrian section have reported hearing footsteps behind them - but seeing nothing when they turned around.

There are a few creepy things going on at Quarry Hill. A man is said to have hung himself from a bridge there in the 1960s. A series of caves - now barred - criss-cross the park underground. You can still visit the cemetery of an old hospital on Quarry Hill Park grounds. All of this adds up to one of the most haunted parks in the area - or so they say.
Lilydale is a beautiful park along the Mississippi River in St. Paul. But some have reported seeing ghostly white figures and hearing screams of distress. My advice? Stick to visiting during the day.

There are reports of kitchen utensils flying through the air and ghostly orbs floating through the different rooms. It's possible that a ghost named Peter is responsible.
A little girl wearing a blue dress has been seen by several visitors to this former city hall. There are also reports of the departed doctor continuing to work in his office upstairs. How else would you explain the creaking chair and shuffling papers?
