Here in Minnesota, fall is an unfortunately short season. But we Minnesotans know how to make the best of it! These few short months are filled with activities that let us soak up the last bit of sun before winter arrives. One favorite activity for many every year is visiting one of Minnesota’s many apple orchards. Some even have a bakery! Today, we want to introduce one such apple orchard. Pine Tree Apple Orchard is a lovely place to visit on a fall afternoon, especially if you walk away with one of their fresh homemade apple pies. Sound good? Read on below to learn more.
Pine Tree Apple Orchard is an apple orchard in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Just north of the Twin Cities, it's a great day trip destination for many Minnesotans.
The orchard's beautiful grounds draw people in throughout the year. Summer brings strawberry season, which draws crowds thanks to the orchard's pick-your-own fields. But things get especially busy in the fall.
Each year starting around September, crowds descend on Pine Tree Apple Orchard to take in all that the fall season has to offer. Many browse the pumpkin patch for the perfect pick, get lost in the corn maze, or take a crisp walk through the orchard.
Of course, you can't leave without trying the orchard's most popular offering: its apples! While this is not a pick-your-own orchard, you'll have plenty of options here.
Visit their store to get bushels of fresh-picked honeycrisp, Haralson, and many other varieties. The orchard grows 25 different kinds of apples, so you'll find the perfect type for baking, preserving, and eating plain.
The store is also home to some truly fantastic edible goodies. You can't go wrong with jam, apple cider, or apple pastries. Many enjoy eating a donut as they wander the grounds!
Other popular goodies include muffins and cookies. You'll find both apple-flavored items and other flavors, such as oatmeal raisin, cinnamon, and other fall favorites.
And of course, you cannot go wrong without getting a take-and-bake apple pie! These fresh-made pies are a wonderful addition to a special fall meal - especially topped with ice cream, which you can also buy here! For the homemade pie, fun activities, and delicious apples, Pine Tree Apple Orchard is a must-visit for fall!
